Helene Disaster Relief

Support Hurricane Helene Disaster Relief Efforts for Gulfport and Across the Southeast

The destruction of Hurricane Helene has been widespread across the Southeast - including the city of Gulfport, Florida, where the Prine Family has owned a family home for decades, a beloved place of retreat for John, Fiona, and their family. The community has lost homes, businesses, jobs, and rebuilding will take a long time.

To provide support for disaster relief in Gulfport and across the Southeast, the Hello in There Foundation will match all donations given in support of disaster relief for Helene.

Donate through October 8th to have your gift matched 1:1 - 100% of your tax-deductible donation will go to local, vetted organizations doing disaster relief efforts on the ground across the Southeastern United States, with a priority for supporting Gulfport and surrounding areas where the Prine Family has owned a home for decades, along with East Tennessee and Western North Carolina. Stay tuned for more ways to help, coming soon!

The Hello in There Foundation is a 501(c)3 charitable nonprofit, established by the family of John Prine as a way for his fan network, friends, and family to celebrate his memory and generous spirit through a philanthropic commitment to community care.

Established in 2021 by the family after John’s death, the work of the foundation is inspired and guided by John’s simple song title, "Hello In There." The foundation mobilizes John’s intensely devoted community of supporters in order to raise resources through tax-deductible donations, event revenue, and sponsorships. In turn, the foundation, often with matching funds from the Prine Family and Oh Boy Records, gives grants to nonprofit organizations that align with John’s ethos, with a particular priority for supporting community nonprofits dedicated to caring for those who are marginalized, discriminated against or, for any reason, are otherwise forgotten.
